well if any of you looked at the projects and ideas blog in the last few days you would have seen
this post about my "dream figure" now although it got no comments I decided that it was because of the situation and not a lack of interest in the character. so I pressed ahead and got out the due-kit again. well I did get some more just in case... and I took it upon myself to sculpt the character, now I have limited to no-experience sculpting the last time I did anything like this was when I turned a Friar Tuck figure that had been crushed under a chair into Karri .C. Tuf ( her name is just his rearranged) but this was different, I actually wanted to create a fig from scratch... I used my memory of a few tutorials I had seen before and started making the "skeleton" of the fig from wire. then began the process of adding layers of due-kit, the stuff is not an ideal material; it does not like to be wrapped around the wire and has a habit of splitting if layered up to much. so I had to apply a layer and then bake it before putting on the next. and this was the result! (painted of coarse, the unpainted version is not as impressive).

a bit fuzzy but he is not that detailed when it comes to the sculpting- most detail is painted on |
the proportions are good for a first try but his legs seem too short though there is a reason for this |
the packs on his belt are way too low! they hide most of his leg making him look out of proportion |
the gas mask came out better than expected which was nice |
I love the way I got his backpack it was starting to worry me that it might just be a shapeless blob |
and of coarse from his best side |
here are some comparison shots for you. he is a bit big but he is meant to be a hero so cut him some slack |
I used humbrol model filler for the base so you can take a bit of height off because he is standing raised above the others |
this shot says it all doesn't it he is a bit chunkier and taller but he can stand with the others |
of coarse you still need to see what he is intended to be so here is a short comparison! my figure in my model world and my character in the cyber world I would ask you who is better but I think that we all are slightly biased to the little plastic and metal guy :-D

cyber! the game is Red Crucible 2 if any of you want to know, I know Emmett (Winttrix) played this because he introduced me to the game |
now the fig was not primed- A) because both Due-kit and humbrol are (apparently) ready to paint and require no priming, however I did take the precaution of mixing lots of PVA glue with that base coat of black paint in case it was a case of exaggerating the truth for sales purposes... so far the claim seems to prove true however the humbrol filler did not like the PVA I applied to the base after I was done (standard procedure so that the bases are protected).
PLEASE LEAVE LOTS OF BIG COMMENTS or small ones... I am interested in perhaps doing more sculpting in the future (hence it a new label) and I want to know what you all think!
YAY 100 posts! I have made it this far, not even a year yet. I think that this is a great post to be number 100 something I am (overly?) proud of and perhaps it is a new theme for me, thanks to all off you for coming and reading all these posts and now I reach triple digits all I can hope is that more of you sign up and see what I have been up to!
