Ninja! Or some early los angeles negros.

So it has been quite a while since I last posted. But for once I have something to show. My models have now moved up with me to Auckland. A bit awkward having my painting set up, laptop and piles of books and over stuff all crammed onto the one desk but is better than having the perfect set up in another town. These are the first fruits of my new set up some ninja from the Caesar Japanese samurai with ninja set. But as with all things I have found a way to fit them into my oronegrean story. ::)

I thought doing a shot outside would be a good idea... Wasn't prepared for the mosquito swarm. Unfortunately I don't have the reflexes of a ninja and the little blood suckers escaped my vengful hands

I added bits of colour to their clothing, not particularly realistic but I felt they looked a tad boring otherwise

For those wondering how these fit into Oronegro, I will use them as early members of los angeles negros.

For the close up shots I relocated away from the mosquito menace

This figure was completed well before the others, finally his friends (all completed today) can join him

This pose is one of the mid-air poses, given I don't know how to make things levitate making it appear the figure was jumping off a roof was the best I could do.

This angle gives a better perspective of the roof itself. Unfortunately I was unable to fix the bent swords on the figures. Something about the soft Caesar plastic makes it hard to fix bends.

Well that's all for today. I have some work coming up this weekend (I work cleaning up rubbish at events - in this case the Mumford and Sons concert) so it may be a bit before my next post. I am working on a few things, including some fantasy figures.

A New Blogging System???

This is a very important post for everyone, I have just received and email from the CEO of Storylane, they allow people to create websites which like blogger give the users the ability to post content under headings.
WHAT I WANT YOU ALL TO TELL ME IS... Should I drop blogger for this new System, I am not sure as I know how hard it is to get all the content from one place to another and I am not sure how easy it will be for you to all access the new site.

SO the question is "to be or not to be?" should I go down the storylane route and leave blogger or carry on using this great tool?

PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS POST THE CONTINUATION OF THIS BLOG, OR THE END OF IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU SAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

on a lighter note I have got some more work coming up, a real mish-mash of different work to show but let us hope that I can present it in a coherent way.

something for my sister.

OK guys those of you with little sisters don't need me to tell you on some occasions that they can really be annoying. But we love them anyway and when my little sister came to me and asked me for help on some homework I was more than willing to help. Unfortunately it needed to be in today and I had on;y last night to do it.... what was it, well my sister had to make a little shoe box diorama from her favourite book. And as she had just read the hunger games, she wanted to me to make her a scene.... the only problem was time and because I could not go to a huge length to prime, base coat, first coat, detail and glue on, I was forced to use my robin hood figures that were not primed. I decided to improvise and added PVA whenever I could to make the paint hold. it was then a matter of adding scenery and putting it in the shoe box, my sister had painted the background a week ago! so here we go... I have forgotten the scene. don't tell my sister!

 well that was the model my sister and I made. I hope you enjoyed this little story. really unusual and wish Abbi luck as apparently these models are going to get judged. and I know I should have primed the figs but time was not on my side, and I was tired as an olympic athlete after a long race.
